Mindfulness and Working with Children and Young People

15 April 2016; Full day

This practical and participative course draws upon the most up to date research and the trainer’s direct experience of working mindfully with children and young people in a variety of different settings. It provides an opportunity to explore how mindfulness can have a positive impact on the relationship adults have with children and young people and how it can improve the health, wellbeing and performance of both the workforce and the children and young people they work with.

The course will help you:

  • Understand the findings of current research into mindfulness and its impact upon children and young people
  • Apply a more mindful approach to developing and maintaining relationships with children and young people.
  • Develop the awareness, understanding and skills needed to introduce simple informal mindfulness practice  into the programmes you run

Suitable for organisations interested in using mindfulness-based approaches in developing the awareness, understanding and skills of their workers and in using mindfulness-based approaches in their work with children and young people.

NB – this course will not qualify you to teach formal mindfulness practices to children and young people.

 

Mindfulness in the Workplace

8 June 2016; Full day

This practical and participative one day course provides an opportunity to learn how mindfulness is currently being used in the workplace to improve workforce health and wellbeing, ensure optimum performance and improve working relationships. The course will also demonstrate how mindfulness can be used in the workplace to enhance the implementation of existing policies and procedures, not replace them.

The course will help you:

  • Understand what mindfulness is and how it works, drawing upon up to date research in neuroscience
  • Recognise how mindfulness might have a positive impact upon the health, wellbeing and performance of people in the workplace
  • Identify how mindfulness can be used to improve and maintain positive relationships
  • Explore different approaches that can be used to introduce mindfulness into the workplace
  • Learn simple mindfulness practices that can be used to help you handle the pressures and challenges of work

Suitable for organisations interested in using mindfulness-based approaches to create and maintain healthier and more productive work environments.

Please note this course will not qualify you to teach colleagues or clients mindfulness.

 

Mindful Leadership

4 July 2016; Full day

This practical and participative one day course is an opportunity for participants to learn how to develop their natural management and leadership skills, getting the best out of themselves and others by adopting a more mindful approach to the role and responsibilities of leadership.

The course will help you:

  • Create and maintain healthier and more productive environments  by identifying and responding rather than reacting to those factors that have a negative impact
  • Recognise your innate leadership skills and use them to maintain authenticity and handle power skilfully
  • Develop a more flexible thinking style needed to think strategically and to manage day to day issues effectively
  • Learn simple mindfulness practices that will enable you to deal with pressures and challenges as they arise
  • Inspire health, wellbeing and optimum performance in others

Suitable for organisations interested in applying mindfulness to the intrapersonal and interpersonal development of their leaders. Please note this course will not qualify you to teach colleagues mindfulness.
